EBAA Promotes use of EGNOS at regional airports in Europe

All-weather access at secondary and tertiary airports in Europe is becoming more and more important for executive and private jet operators, as access to major hub airports continues to become increasingly restricted.  With this in mind, the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) and the European GNSS Agency (GSA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote the wide use of EGNOS, precision-based navigation, at Europe's regional airports.

The European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS) is satellite based augmentation system developed by the European Space Agency, the European Commission, and Eurocontrol.  The EGNOS system, which consists of four geostaionary satellites and a network of ground stations, has great potential for aiding in the expansion of executive jet and private aviation operations to smaller airports throughout Europe.  Follow EVO Jet Service's news updates to learn about EGNOS vital role in exective and private jet operations in Europe.
